5 Months Old

5 MONTHS OLD!

Here's what you've been up to this month!

18 Weeks:

-You ate rice cereal for the first time on February 8th.  Most of it got on your bib instead of in your tummy, but you made a lot of yummy noises!  You didn't really like the texture, but after a couple tries you got the hang of it and love it now!

-You fuzzy hair finally fell out of your ears.  :)

-You wake up grouchy after your naps sometimes....like your mother.

19 Weeks:

-You spent the night with both of your grandparents for the first time this week.  Mommy and Daddy took a trip to Gatlinburg with Aunt Haley and Uncle Michael and both grandparents got to have you over to spend the night.  It went well and you stayed right on schedule the whole time and were such a good boy for them!

-You usually talk yourself to sleep now

-You LOVE hearing the sound of your own voice and are quite the chatty cathy.  If we ever have to take you out in church it's usually because your happy...not because your crying.

-You have started to "hug" us back now when we pick you up.

20 Weeks: 

-You are eating rice cereal and sweet potatoes now.  Love both of them!

-I know you have done this before 20 weeks (but I can't remember when), but you wake up in the mornings now just talking to yourself and have the BIGGEST grin on your face when we come an get you out of your crib.

-Sleeping now from about 8:00/8:30 to anywhere from 7:00-7:30

-Like playing on your tummy for short periods of time now

-Can easily make you laugh if we act REALLY stupid

21 Weeks:

-You went to your first baseball game at Optimist park to watch your Papa and the Lee Generals.  :)

-You had your first overnight with just daddy because mommy had to go out of town with Christine and the cheerleaders for a regional basketball game at Jack State.  You did so good!

-You have really stinky gas now.  haha

-You grab your feet ALL the time now when you are laying down.  You even hold them so we can wipe your bottom on the changing table!  :)

-You got sick (for the second time) with a stuffy/runny nose.  Not fun.  :(

-Your feet can now touch in your bouncy seat and you love to bounce!

-You started reaching for the toys in your bouncy seat as well.

-You ate Squash for the first time and you love it!

4 Months

4 MONTHS OLD!

So I'm a month behind in my posts....that just tells you how busy life with a baby has been!  :)

Went to the doctor for your 4 Month Check-up on February 7th and you now weigh 15.5 pounds and are 26 inches long!  You are 50th percentile for your head, 70th percentile in weight, and 90th percentile in height.  Big Boy!!

Here's what you did this month:

13 Weeks: 

-Mommy went back to work this week.  :(  But thankfully you have your Marmie, Grammy, and Aunt Teresa to help take care of you!

-You never stop moving.  You even twirl your feet when you eat (which apparently I did the same thing when I was a baby)

-You had our first "conversation".  I was taking you to Marmie's house and you were just a chatty little cathy in the backseat!  I would say something and then you would reply in your baby jabber.

-You laughed at the dogs for the first time this week.

14 Weeks:

-You started grabbing your legs when you lay down (mainly your knees)

-You held a toy for a while and tried to eat it for the first time

-Took paci out of mouth and put it back in yourself

-You laugh when we shake your hands/body

15 Weeks:

-You can hold your head up really well and can sit up on own while someone is holding your fingers

-Your favorite toy right now is the colorful ring toy

-Your 3 month outfits are getting tight at this point

16 Weeks: 

-You have taken a fascination to TV's

-You can sit up really well in your bumbo seat now

-We discovered that you LOVE to snuggle and gave you a lovie blanket and you fell right to sleep!

-Slept 12 hours straight two nights in a row

-Favorite song now is "5 Green and Speckled Frogs"

-You normally sleep from 9:00-8:00ish

-You learned you can scream this week and love hearing yourself.  :)

17 Weeks:

-You laughed/chuckled for the first time on February 5th

-You grabbed your foot or the first time in February 7th

-You screamed at yourself in the mirror

-Favorite toy now is your soft book, "What do you see?"

-Got in your bouncy seat for the first time (have to prop your feet up with a pillow though, because they don't touch)

3 Months Old

3 MONTHS OLD

"Whoa I'm 3 Months old!"

You are such a sweet boy and we have had so much fun getting to know you this past month.  You have such a personality and have done so many things this month.  

At your check up appointment on December 8th you weighed 12.8 and were 24 inches long...so I'm sure you've grown a lot since then but we don't go back to the doctor until February, so we'll have to wait and see exactly how much you have grown. 

9 Weeks:

-You squealed with laughter for the first time.  Before you had just smiled, but now you are squealing and what I call laughing like a goose.  :)

-You went to you first basketball game and the buzzer made you jump at first, but now you don't even budge at the sound and will sleep right through the game if it's your nap time.

-You slept for an 8 hour stretch on December 7th for the first time.  Mama was very happy!

-You have started to pout this week and will poke at that lip when someone makes you unhappy.

-You also took pictures with Santa Claus this week!

10 Weeks:

-On December 17th you slept almost 10 hours!  We also moved you to your crib this night for the first time....mama was very sad.

-Your really starting to favor your left hand now....may be a lefty!

-You have laughed out loud in your sleep.

-Your also starting to communicate with us a lot more and will carry on a conversation.  :)

11 Weeks:

-You will pull your paci out and start sucking your hand/fingers.

-You have started to suck your left hand and play with your hair/scratch your head with your right hand.

-You LOVE the ABC song and laugh a lot when we say our vowels.

-You prefer to lay down and stretch/kick your legs sometimes rather than being held a lot and passed around by people.

-You can hold your head up on your tummy for more than a couple minutes at a time, so strong!

-You can hold your head up on your own when we hold you on our shoulder.

-You can wear some 6 month outfits now!

-You had your first Christmas and got LOTS of presents from your family.

12 Weeks:

-You love reading the animal book Santa brought you for Christmas.

-You love to stomp!

-Your ALWAYS moving, even when you eat and sleep

-We had to give you gas medicine for the first time because your tum-tum was hurting

-You started sucking our fingers/gnawing on them.  :)
