The Life of a Pregnant Lady

So what has pregnancy been like for you Rachel??  Well....whenever I feel the little guy kick me it's absolutely amazing and such a miracle from God.  Other than that....I want my old body back.  :)   Don't get me wrong, carrying this little miracle inside me is such a wonderful experience...but now that I'm in my 6th month it's getting a LITTLE difficult to move around these days.  I can't do all the old things I used to (like roll over in bed with ease), but I know it's all worth it and will be over before I know it.  :)

So here are some major milestones that I wanted to post for little Kipton and myself (basically so I won't forget them...you know, pregnancy brain and all)

4 Weeks (January 31st):  Matt and I found out our lives were going to be blessed by you.  :)

6 Weeks (February 15th): Our little pregnancy test was confirmed by an actual doctor....our thoughts after the doctor confirmed are you positive??  Although we were extremely excited...we still questioned whether or not this whole thing was about to happen.  :)

7 Weeks: Told your grandparents and uncles we were expecting you.  What an experience that was.
13 Weeks....you can tell it's the 1st Trimester and I'm obviously tired.
17 Weeks (May 1st):  I felt you move for the first time at church.  Guess you must have liked the lesson.

19 Weeks:  Daddy felt you move for the first time and we could also see you moving in my tummy.

20 Weeks: Found out you were a boy!  Our little Kipton.   :)

Your 20 Week Ultrasound Pic
Your Little Foot!

Finally starting to show!

This shirt might not fit next time.   :)
21 Weeks: You went swimming for the first time (in my tummy of course)

23 Weeks: I played with you for the first time;  You would give me a high five every time I put my hand on my stomach.

24 Weeks: Your heartbeat was around 140 at the doctors office and you are extremely active....go figure with the two parents you have.

25 Weeks:  You took your first trip to the beach  (once again...in my tum-tum)

25 Weeks at the Beach.

Had to take the awkward "hold your belly" pose.

Mommy and Daddy

26 Weeks: You took your first ride in the Reynolds ski boat at Lake Guntersville...quite bumpy, but lots of fun!  I also am getting MAJOR leg cramps carrying you around, but your worth it.

27 Weeks: Your getting so strong because you kicked me so hard this week it took by breath away!

28 Weeks:  Your getting so big that at the doctor's office this week I had to lean over on the scale to look over my stomach and see how much we weigh.  :)

We love you very much little Kipton and can't wait for you to get here!

First Refinishing Project

So here it is...my first project!  Hooray!

When deciding where to start on a project....I was a little worried because, well I've never done anything like this before.  So I thought to myself....what can I work on that will be ok if I accidentally screw up??  There is this little wooden stand that our TV used to sit on and I thought...well isn't that just perfect!

A couple things that were wrong with it and why I wanted to fix it:  For one it was the wrong color and doesn't match our existing living room furniture.  Secondly, there was a piece broke off the side.  And lastly, there were some ugly stains and watermarks on the top.  Well not anymore!

By using some stripper, followed by some rough sand paper, and then adding a Dark Oak stain, voila!!  All is good and new!   After I stained it, I finished it off with some polyurethane by MinWax.
All Stripped Down
Stained
The infamous Stain....always wear gloves.

The Shiny Stuff
My sanding tools.....the Dremel Matt bought me.  So sweet of him!
Now it's nice and shiny and perfect for our living room.  Matt even approved....except for the fact that I have completely taken over his garage.  Which, what does he care anyway...I'm the one who used to park in it.  :)  Love you hunny bunches!

Now for those of you wondering what in the world a pregnant women is doing around all of those toxic products...no need to fear, I took many precautions!  My favorite being the stylish face mask.  :)

Scary....I know.

Until next time!

Welcome to the Reynolds Rap

So, here it is...my first blog post.  What in the world possessed me to start a blog you ask?  Well, a couple of reasons actually, but first I must list reasons why I have NOT started a blog until now.  The thoughts in my head have shunned me away from blogs for a long time....thoughts like "don't start a blog....blogs are for losers" because it seems that it is just a way of someone to narcissistically talk about themselves and write diary like a 10 year old school girl for anyone to read.....which is kinda creepy in a way.  BUT!....none the less here I am....writing to myself and actually very excited about this new blog thing.  :)  Not because I'm egotistic, but because of the following reasons:

For one (and the most important I might add), I am pregnant with a little boy that's due on October 6th.  :)  He is already the basis of my thoughts everyday and he's not even here yet...oh boy.  But I got to thinking about how in the world I will have enough time to keep precious memories of my pregnancy and his life growing up, since I hear it all happens so fast.  So, then I got to thinking well....I could start a blog to keep up with everything...BRILLIANT!  So, once the little guy gets here that is what will consume "The Reynolds Rap"....until then, here are some other reasons why I started the blog.

Recently I have become OBSESSED with refinishing furniture and starting all new crafts for my little Kipton.  Thanks to a lovely lady who has a blog called "Censational Girl" I have been truly inspired that I can take an everyday piece of furniture and turn it into a masterpiece....according to my standards that is.  So, while enjoying my summer off from teaching I have started a new hobby which I absolutely love!

Another hobby which I hope to be just as thrilled with is sewing.  My mother-in-law was nice enough to let me borrow her sisters sewing machine and I have yet to get started on those projects yet, but hopefully I will post pictures of my attempt to make a bib and burp clothes...we'll see how well that goes.

Also, because of this blog I will be able to look back and see how my pregnancy journey was.  It is going by so fast and I want to be able to keep track of little day things that happened while Kipton was daily kicking me in my ribs.  :)

Lastly, I will keep myself and anyone else who wants to be entertained with the daily blog stories of the Reynolds family; currently made up of myself, my loving husband Matt, two hairy children Dixie and Lexi, and (soon to make his appearance in the world) Kipton.  :)

Thanks for visiting and more to come later!
