Chicago and Halloween

Trip to Chicago and Halloween Festivities!

Chicago

Matt had a work conference in Chicago the first week of October so we were able to get away for a mini-vaca to the Windy City.  It was a lot of fun, but we sure did miss Kipton!  After visiting Chicago, I will definitely bring Kipton next time because there is plenty to do and Chicago is very safe and kid-friendly.  There are quite a few selfies of me because Matt was at the conference for much of the time, so I had to brave the city on my own.  (which I thoroughly enjoyed)

Before we got to Chicago, we made a trip to Nashville for Seth's wedding.

This was at the Sears Tower.  They had a glass deck that jutted out of the building so you could "sit" on top of the city.  Not gonna lie, it made my stomach turn a little bit.

Had to take a selfie with "the bean"

The coolest part about the entire trip was renting a bike and riding it around the city.  I wish I had done this for most of the trip because it was so much fun cruising around Chicago at my own pace.  The city is very bike friendly and it was beautiful weather!

Matt and I rode our bikes up to northern Chicago and drove by Wrigley Field.  Matt tried to get in, but it was locked down pretty good.  Go figure.

We took a boat-tour at night and although it was very chilly and windy, it was a very informative and interesting tour. Very touristy, I know.

While in Chicago we had to get a hot dog, of course.

We visited The Field Museum, which was cool but t A LOT of walking and looking at stuffed creatures.

Da Bears, Da Bulls!

This was the day we picked you up from school after our trip.  I felt like you had grown a foot!!

Great Trip and loved to go back again and again, but with Kipton next time!

Halloween and Visit to Tate Farms

Checking out the bunnies.  The pig was probably the most fascinating to you though.

Riding in the Corn Tractor Bucket

You got to pick out your own pumpkin!

Riding the new tricycle Grandma gave you for your birthday

Playing with Huddy

This was our trip to Trunk our Treat at Mayfair for Halloween.  As you can see, you were not happy about wearing your Tiger costume.

You got over your insecurities though.  :)

22-24 Months and Turning 2!

22-24 Months and Turning 2!

Big Milestone this month:  Your 2nd Birthday Party!

We had some major milestones in the months of August, September, and October.

You went to school for the first time!  We decided since you love bible class so much you would enjoy a school setting.  First United Methodist has a program that allows you to go two half days a week.  You were very excited to go, but a little unsure when I left.  It only took you a couple weeks to be walking in by yourself though; your so big.  :)
Your teachers are Ms. "Ree Ree" (Marie) as you call her and Ms. Cindy.  You love them both, but Ms. Ree Ree has a special place in your heart.  You come home talking about things often but the two that stick out the most and are your favorite thing to do is march and sing the turtle song.  You are in a class above the age level your supposed to be in, but I believe it is for the good because since you have been going to school your vocabulary and speaking ability has sky-rocketed.
Matt and I took a trip to Chicago the first week of October and when we came back to pick you up you were speaking in full sentences!!  It blew Mommy's mind and I was so sad because I was only gone for 5 days and you had grown up so much!  I vowed then and there to never be gone that long again.  (who knows if that statement will hold or not, but I'll try)

We went on our second trip to Auburn and brought Pawpaw and Grammy with us.  We tailgated with some family friends by Donahue and set up PawPaw and Grammy's camper there for the weekend.  You had all kinds of fun playing in the dirt, looking for Aubie, shaking your orange and blue shakers, and many other things.   It was a good weekend, especially since Auburn beat Mississippi State and clutched the first SEC victory of the season.

On the way home from the trip we stopped at Peach Park and got some ice cream, played on the playground, and walked through the woods.  You love to play outside so it was a hit, especially the big slide that you got to go down it with with daddy.

You still love to go to church and you now call the building and podium Jesus.  We'll be coming down the hill into Jones Valley on the road and yell "I see Jesus"!  And then when we walk into the auditorium, you say "I go see Jesus".  You still love Bible class and are learning about the first family and know who Adam, Eve, and Cain and Able are.  So smart you are.  :)

We also had your 2nd Birthday Party. When Daddy and I asked you what theme you wanted between the choices of Trains and Tractors, without hesitating you responded Tractor!  So your birthday was full of green and yellow, tractors, hay rides, and lots of family and friends.  You mainly got tractors, trains, and books for presents and you loved them all!

Favorites at this point and time in your life:

Movies:  Finding Nemo, Jungle Book, Lion King, Fox and the Hound, Mickeys Adventures in Wonderland & the coo-coo bird.  <This movie has made you have an obsession with clocks and you say "tick-tock tick-tock it's time to fix the coo coo birdie!"

Favorite Sayings:
I see Jesus
I get in trouble
The tractor moves dirt and gravel
Hey stop that!
No I stay in the Jungle (when told to go upstairs and get ready for bed, this is often the response since Mougley says this in Jungle Book)
"I go upstairs"
I be RIGHT back.  I go get sumfin.
Hhhhhhhmmmmmmm
It's coming on!!  (when referring to a movie)

Food:  Supreme Pizza (with all the fixings, especially Green Peppers), Goldfish, Chocolate graham crackers, and hotdogs and chicken as always.

Songs:
If your happy and you know it
Lou Lou, Skip to my Lou.
Jesus Loves Me
